Value: VIDEO:
Maximizing the ratio of “Good Stuff” to “Bad Stuff”
To survive, all man-made systems and processes must evolve to deliver higher Value over time. Value is a ratio of “good stuff” to “bad stuff” in a product, service, or software. Value is very similar to another concept called “Ideality”, a TRIZ (Theory of Inventive Problem Solving) mindset. Both Value and Ideality are qualitative measures that serve as a guideline for problem-solving and new idea generation to maximize New Customer Value. There are 6 “strategies” and over 3 dozen specific tools designed to directly improve any system by proactively working on the numerator and denominator of the following Value and Ideality equations: V=F/C, V=F²/P+C, or I=∑UF/∑HE.
